  • The Embassy Theatre is New Zealands Grandest Picture Palace. It is popularly considered to be the spiritual home of 'The Lord of the Rings' and hosted the Australasian premieres of both 'The Fellowship of the Ring' and 'The Two Towers' as well as the World Premiere of 'The Return of the King' in December 2003.
Built in 1924, The Embassy is one of Wellingtons most beloved icons and is a prominent landmark at the top end of Courtenay Place the entertainment hub of Wellington. The Embassy embodies art deco cinema paradiso with sweeping marble staircases and original tiled foyers, having been fully refurbished to its former glory.
