Auckland Heritage Festival - celebrate the unique stories
and secrets of Auckland the city's natural, built and social history.

29 August to 7 September - Gay
Ski Week NZ is a no attitude event, attracting more than 450 men
and women to the slopes of Queenstown each September. The southern
hemisphere's biggest gay and lesbian alpine party, it has a jam packed
schedule of events both on and off the snow.
- Central
Hawke's Bay The Festival is an arts festival with flair,
including highlights such as designer craft stalls, antiques, a chilli
cook off, oriental carpets, school art competition, wine tasting,
garden exhibition, live music and a free Friday night concert.
- ARC
48 Hour Adventure Race - Dubbed "Mission
Impossible", the race involves two days of navigation through
some of the remotest parts of the Coromandel Peninsula on foot, two
wheels and at sea, above and below ground. The race is open to teams
of two and four and categories include mixed, men's and women's. Teams
are expected to take between 40-50 hours.
- Moro
Marathon - The Moro Marathon in Dunedin includes a Half
Marathon and a Half Marathon Recreational Walk, incorporating the Otago
Open /Masters Marathon Championships. Established in 1979, it is one of
the most scenic marathons in New Zealand, starting close to the
Albatross Colony on the Otago Peninsula, then running around the
beautiful Otago Harbour before finishing at Watson Park, Port Chalmers.
- Powerade
Day Night Thriller, an exhilarating Mountain Bike Relay event,
was the largest MTB event in New Zealand last year with more than 3000
riders. Individuals, teams of two/three or four/five compete on an
8km, 30-minute circuit over 12 hours from 10.30am to 10.30pm. New for
this year is the option of a team six-hour event starting at 10.30am
and finishing at 4.30pm. Based at Spa Park, the track includes fast
open park grounds, awesome downhill, pine needle covered forest
tracks, challenging single tracks and magnificent scenery including
the mighty Waikato River.

Montana
World of Wearable Art Awards Show is a two-hour montage of
theatre, dance, colour, movement and art, held annually in September in
Wellington to an audience of 30,000 per season. Each year WOW announces
the winners live at the Awards Ceremony on the first Friday performance
) of the show season.
- Dunedin
Fringe Festival - Engage in an action-packed festival of
experimental and contemporary art that takes over Dunedin for 17
spell-binding days. This is an open-access festival so anyone can
register to be in the program. Artist grants for the development of
new artistic works and travel assistance are available on
registration. The Dunedin Fringe Festival has extended its dates this
year, adding an extra seven days to the usual 10-day program.
- The
Springston Trophy - Billed as the largest pony club
teams event in the Southern Hemisphere, this year's Trophy will be
held in Christchurch with the program including cross country,
dressage and show jumping.
