  • 2 November 2008 - Auckland Marathon
     
  • Ellerslie Flowershow, Auckland,  the Southern Hemispheres biggest, brightest and most colourful garden event is held in Auckland each year.
     
  • Farmers Santa Parade, Wellington. Join in the festive fun as the Farmers Santa Parade weaves its way throughout the city.
     
  • Farmers Santa Parade, Auckland. Traditionally the Parade attracts well over 250,000 people as it kick-starts the Christmas season with the perfect mix of fantasy, excitement, magic and laughter. 
     
  • Taranaki Rhododendron Festival  - An established event with a very successful 18-year history, all the gardens have been independently assessed by the New Zealand Garden Trust for their design, plant selection, and maintenance. The Festival showcases the diverse range of gardens throughout Taranaki from coastal and sub-tropical to alpine.
     
  • 24 Hours of Southern Traverse - A smaller version of the Southern Traverse, the adventure race will take place on the rivers, lakes and mountains surrounding Queenstown and is open to teams of two or four of any mix.
     
  • Royal New Zealand Show  - Hosted by the Canterbury A&P Association at Christchurch, the Royal Show inspires excellence among livestock competitors, in the standard of judges, competition and prize money for the event. It is truly the most prestigious agricultural event of the year.
     
  • Meridian Energy Celebrity Walk Week  Dust off your boots, grab your friends and take the opportunity to explore New Zealand's new frontier in tramping experiences with a few celebrities in the lap of luxury. Joined by a selection of Southland celebrities and catered for by some of the finest young chefs in the land, this is a not-to-be-missed opportunity. All proceeds go to the Tuatapere Hump Track Charitable Trust for maintenance and improvements of the track and facilities.
     
  • Timaru Festival of Roses  - With the theme for this year being 'Roses and Romance', theres a week-long program of fascinating, stimulating and exciting things to do and see. Included in the festival is the NZ Hat and Hair Art Awards a theatrical show guaranteed to be a glittering festival highlight featuring some of the country's most innovative and artistic hair and hat designers, with entries based around the festival theme of 'Romancing the Rose'.
     
  • Toast Martinborough Wine, Food & Music Festival Each year the population of Martinborough increases tenfold as wine and food lovers from throughout the country fill the small Wairarapa town to celebrate the release of the new vintage and to enjoy New Zealand's premium wine, food and music festival. Festival tickets will be on sale mid-October through Ticketmaster.
