- Winter@Waipu
is a three-month festival celebrating winter in the small settlement
of Waipu, with a host of entertainment and events lined up.
- The
Brass Monkey Motorcycle Rally will take place over the Queens
Birthday Weekend at the Idaburn Dam, near Oturehua in Central Otago, a
place selected for its proximity to the site of New Zealands
coldest recorded temperature. Rallyists can expect the mercury to
plunge to between -10 degrees and -20 degrees Celsius overnight. Up to
3500 rallyists are expected to attend, with motorcyclists ranging in
age from teenagers to 86 year olds. The event is run by the Otago
Motorcycle Club, based in Dunedin.

Work National Art is an eight-day event in Gisborne attracting
women artists from throughout New Zealand to exhibit their artworks
collectively.

Winter Festival - over 60 events lined up over 10 days
including all the old favourites, some special festival twists and
