As in many parts of the world, Christchurch's trams were retired in the 1950s. The Tramway Historical Society reopened a loop through the inner city in 1995, with stops at the Cathedral, Art Gallery, Botanical Gardens, and other tourist attractions. The two trams seen here are originally from Melbourne, Australia.
